Ning Yu, DDS, PhD

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Ning Yu, who has recently joined our practice as a periodontal associate.

Dr. Yu grew up in Handan, a northern city in China, and earned her dental degree from China Medical University in Shenyang, a far northern city known for its heavy snow and bright sunshine. She later completed her periodontal specialty training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she was honored with the prestigious Orban Award from the American Academy of Periodontology in recognition of excellence in research.

Dr. Yu and her family eventually settled in New England, drawn by the beauty of four seasons and the region's warm, welcoming communities. She currently maintains a part-time teaching appointment at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning.

Clinically, Dr. Yu is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients and is dedicated to providing care that is both expert and compassionate, with a strong emphasis on communication and collaboration with referring doctors.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Yu enjoys reading non-fiction, running 5ks, and relaxing by the pool with a good book. She and her husband, Mao, a scientist in cancer research, stay busy raising their daughter, Emma, who loves swimming and playing the guitar.
